FAQ
Questions couples ask
The things couples want to know before they enquire.
Getting married in France
- Can we get legally married at the château?
- In France, a legal marriage takes place at the town hall, and one partner usually needs to have lived locally for at least 40 days. Most couples from abroad marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony here, which can be as personal as you like.
- When is the best time of year to marry in Provence?
- May, June and September are the most popular months: warm days, cooler evenings and long light. Lavender flowers from late June into July. August is hot and busy, and spring and autumn dates are often easier to find.
The venue
- How many guests can we invite?
- Up to 150 guests for a seated dinner and up to 200 for drinks and dancing.
- Is the château exclusive to us?
- Yes. There is one wedding at a time, and the whole estate is yours from arrival to departure.
- What happens if it rains?
- The orangery seats every guest, so the ceremony or dinner can move inside without changing anything else.
- Is there a music curfew?
- Music runs until 1am in the courtyard, then quieter music indoors for those still going.
Staying and planning
- How many guests can stay?
- 18 bedrooms sleep 42 guests. Village guesthouses and hotels nearby take everyone else.
- Do we have to use your suppliers?
- You choose your caterer from our list of trusted caterers. Flowers, photography, music and planning are up to you.
- Can we visit before we book?
- Yes. Couples can visit in person, or book a video call tour if they are planning from abroad.
